Is there a way to print just the turnout? All that other gobbledygook is using up all my ink!

Yes, admittedly there is a lot of extra information on the tie templates that you probably don't need.  There is a way to "crop" just the turnout portion of the tie template and print just that.  The steps are as follows....

1. Ensure you have the latest Adobe Reader.  You can download the latest version here...

2. Open the template you wish to print in Adobe. (Just click the Download Now button on the tie template page).

3. Once the template is open, click on the Magnifying glass icon on the top of the screen. (Note: If you don't see the magnifying glass icon, right click and select "Marquee Zoom"

Step 1
click on image for larger version...

4. Draw a box around the portion of the tie template you wish to print.  If it is a multi-page template, be certain to include the targets used to align the pages after.

5. Click in the print icon on the upper left hand side of the page.  When the print options dialog box opens, select "Current View" in the Print Rage section. (Shown in the image below next to the 1)

6. Select "None" on the Page Scaling drop down from the Page Handling section. (this is VERY important, otherwise the printed turnout will not be full size).  Shown in the image below next to the 2.

7. Click on OK to send the image to the printer.  Repeat steps 3 through 6 for each page of the template.
