Are the PC Board Ties copper plated on both sides of the tie?
Yes.
Can I use the TieBreaker for curved turnouts that have the same frog angle as a regular turnout?
Yes, curved turnouts that have the same frog angle as a regular turnout are designed with the PC board ties in the same location and are the same length.
How thick are your PC Ties?
We offer 1/32", 1/16", 1mm, 2mm and 2.5mm thick ties to match most wood ties.
I have purchased PC Board ties before and they were always twisted. Are yours twisted as well?
No. We stamp our ties rather than shearing them like other manufacturers do. This results in a perfectly flat tie.
It appears that your ties are cut to length. Can I purchase longer, un-cut pieces?
No. Because the ties are stamped, we are unable to provide un-cut lengths.
What are PC Board Ties used for?
PC Board ties are used to re-enforce switches by soldering them to strategic points along the switch. Normally only enough PC Board ties are used to provide structural strength. Standard wood ties are
Won't PC Board Ties be obvious?
No. With proper treatment, PC Board Ties can be made virtually invisible and indistinguishable from wood ties.
Won't the copper plating cause a dead short?
To prevent shorting, a thin electrical isolation gap is cut into the copper plating using a small file.
Your PC Board Ties don't match the thickness of wood ties. Won't that be a problem?
No. In some scales the PC Board ties may be thinner than the wood ties, but with a fixture built turnout the tie is fastened to the rail and will "float" between the wood ties. The space under the tie
