Fast Tracks Releases Innovative New Flexible Laser Cut Wood Turnout Ties

Calgary, CANADA -- August 2005 -- Today Fast Tracks announced the addition of their new line of “TwistTies” flexible laser cut wood ties for turnouts and wyes to their growing catalogue of track laying tools. This innovative new product offers the model craftsman a new way of building curved or straight turnouts with ease using real wood ties, spikes & rail.

NMRA compatible TwistTies are cut as a single-piece assembly of pre-spaced, pre-drilled wood ties that can be curved to fit any desired radius while maintaining the turnout size. They include pre-drilled spike holes that ensure accurate gauging and geometry, taking the guesswork out of building curved or straight turnouts and making turnout construction faster and easier than traditional hand laying methods. Etched guidelines on the ties can be used to verify rail positioning making it easier to construct turnouts that are in gauge.

TwistTies are cut from very pliable Baltic birch stainable plywood custom made in Finland specifically for Fast Tracks. The wood grain runs perpendicular to the rails and the ties will match all popular commercially available wood ties and flextrack.

Left hand and right hand TwistTies turnouts are available in HO, HOn3, HOn30, Sn2, Sn3, On30 scales in turnout sizes #4 through #12, and will work with code 70, 83 and 100 rail.
