Fast Tracks Releases Foolproof Point Building Tool For Frog and Switch Points Calgary, CANADA -- November 2004 -- Today Fast Tracks introduced its new “PointForm" Filing Jig. A new tool for creating perfectly fitted frog and switch points in just a few minutes with nothing more than a hand file. With the new Fast Tracks PointForm filing jig, modelers of all skill levels can construct realistic looking, better performing frog and switch points that can reduce derailments and add a professional look and feel to any layout. The PointForm filing jig works by clamping the rail at a precise angle so that points can be easily filed with a hand file. Its use is simple, slide the rail into the end marked "Point" to form switch points, or into the end marked "Frog" to form frog points. Tighten the cap screws using the supplied Allan wrench and file the rail flush with the edge of the tool. Points that are formed with the PointForm filing jig are ideally suited for trackwork constructed using Fast Tracks assembly fixtures, but can also be used for any hand constructed turnout. The PointForm filing jig is available in two sizes. Small for rail codes 40 & 55, and large for rail codes 70, 83, & 100 and will accommodate #4 to #12 turnouts. The PointForm is priced at $44.95 (USD) and can be ordered directly from the manufacturer on their website at www.fast-tracks.net.
