Mt. Albert scale stripwood is produced from the highest quality basswood available. Cut to consistent dimensions, with a tolerance of +/- .003" (less than the thickness of a sheet of paper), this material is ideally suited for all scratch building projects.
Our method of cutting basswood produces clean, fuzz-free wood strips ready to use. We use the finest raw materials available, free of knots and discoloration.
These HO scale, 1"x8" strips are sold in a package of 6, 16" (406 mm) long pieces.
Each strip is 116 HO scale feet long (35.4 HO scale meters). This package contains 696 HO scale feet of material (212.1 HO scale meters).

NOTE: This product was sold under the part number MA104P12 (12" strips) or MA104P24 (24" strips) in the Mt. Albert Scale Lumber catalog. This product's Fast Tracks part number is now ST-HO-1x8-16.
All 12" and 24" lengths have been replaced with 16" (406 mm) lengths.

I do a lot of HO scratch building and use only MT Albert products whenever possible for two main reasons: 1st they are more dimensionally correct, 2nd the the finish and quality is better than any competitor. The latter saves a great deal of time. This goes for all their products.

Wood is imperfect by nature, but I have found Mt. Albert stripwood to be as good as it gets. You will always have pieces that are imperfect, but thy tend to be few and far between with Mt. Albert. I have also found that the 16" length makes for less waste than the 11" length of some of the competitors. Scale dimensions are generally very accurate and the finish is top quality.
