Fast Tracks is the exclusive distributor for the first of what we hope is a long line of innovative tools by Ultimation.

Developed by Al Collins, the founder of Mt. Albert Scale Lumber, this unique sander is THE tool for producing precise, repeatable angles on scale lumber. Don’t let the lack of a motor discourage you; it is precisely why this tool works so well. Al noticed that he frequently used a disk sander to form angles on strip wood for a trestle project he was working on. However, he was using it manually, and turning on the motor proved too aggressive for his needed precision. This is when the Ultimation Sander was born.

Like anything that Fast Tracks produces or offers, this tool is the highest quality possible. Ball bearings and all metal construction give this tool a feel that has to be felt to be believed. Its rigid design and construction translate into very accurate results.

  • repeatable accuracy within 1/2°
  • rubber edge disk for precise fingertip control
  • pre-set 90° fence, as well as an adjustable fence for angles between 1° and 90°
  • adjustable table to prolong disk life
  • table and fence can be fine-tuned for 100% accuracy
  • mounting holes on the base
  • easy to change 5″ stick-on sanding disk

Order your Ultimation Sander today! You WILL wonder how you ever got along without it…

Consider adding the Repeater attachment for your sander. This add-on allows multiple pieces to be produced precisely the same size.

Shouldn’t your bullet point stating 1degree to 90 degrees actually say 0 to 90 degrees? Otherwise the first bullet point of 1/2 degree repeatability is impossible.

I found the sander to be everything I expected very high quality and works life a charm. Only difficulty I had was I needed to use 1.5 in bolt to mount on platform I used and there is not enough clearance on front of sander to get this bolt in . Needed to disassemble to get bolt in otherwise superb tool very happy

I just received it. The first job I tried was beveling the bolster for the wheel set. Used to be a clumsy job. With this it was set the angle and slowly slide the piece of wood until we hit the end of bevel mark. Surprisingly easy. I AM a toolaholic, but I think that it is a good illness. This is very well made and I look forward to using it for a long while.

This is extraordinarily well designed and well-made. When I first saw it I thought I would have no use for it because it wasn’t powered, I had never seen a manual disc sander. This sits on my bench next to a powered disc sander which I almost never use now 🙂 This tool is much more accurate because it’s manual.

I’ve built a lot of HO craftsman kits, but I was embarking on a new journey when I took on a scratch-build of an O-scale PRR scale house for a friend. The building has lots of angles and trim on the outside, and I was building it almost board by board. I had just seen the Ultimation Sander and thought it would make this job easier. It not only did that but made the resulting structure much more accurate as well. I’ve used it for several other projects as I’ve discovered its versatility.

Why did I wait so long to buy this wonderful piece of machinery? Hands down this is the best tool you can get for sanding material to accurate angles and lengths short of a CNC milling machine. Easy to set up and use and the repeater is a valuable add-on. Between the two all your sanding needs are met. I give it two thumbs up because the is all the thumbs I have.
