Have very limited space to mount a switch machine? Using our SideWinder Horizontal BullFrog mounting kit you can mount the BullFrog machine (sold separately) on its side in a space only 1-1/8" high!
The SideWinder mount also has the added bonus of reversing the throw of the machine so the switch points move in the same direction as the control knob.
The design of the BullFrog Switch Machine is such that the points move in the opposite direction of the control knob, using the SideWinder will correct this and allow them to move in the same direction as the control knob as can be seen in the video below.
- Very Small Profile - Only 1-1/8" of clearance required!
- Reverses Travel of Control Rod - Points move in same direction as the control knob
- Simple Construction - Assemble in minutes!
- Works with any BullFrog - Simply bolt in a pre-built BullFrog Switch Machine
- Full Selection of Supporting Products - Control rods, joiner kits, rod hangers, etc.
The SideWinder kit comes un-assembled, and includes all of the parts you need to build a complete unit, including:
- All pre-cut wood pieces
- Control wire
- All screws, nuts & washers
To assemble the SideWinder you will need wood glue, a modeling knife, fine sandpaper, #2 philips screwdriver, and about 15 minutes of time. (The first one may take you a bit longer.)
A BullFrog mounted in The SideWinder is easy to mount under your layout with just four wood screws and will work with all scales from Z to O. The control wire offers high torque and a long throw, making it easy to mount the control with minimal alignment problems.
Use your own control rod, or purchase the control rod kit to connect the BullFrog to your control panel using a a nylon rod that includes a Z bend connector and operation knob. We also offer a number of additional accessories.
