Nothing is as likely to become permanent as a temporary solution. When Tim Warris built the CNJ Bronx Terminal layout back in 2009 a quick solution was needed to provide a float bridge, or "arpon" to get the layout operational for the NMRA Convention in Hartford where the layout was to be debut. A simple 11 piece laser cut bridge was drawn up and did the job perfectly. While there are no details commonly found on a car float apron, the floatbridge looks pretty good. Over the years Fast Tracks has made, on request, copies of this for other modelers looking for a quick build float bridge, or a good starting point to build a more detailed version. We've been seeing an increase in these requests lately, so we decided to make it a permanent part of our product line.
Laser cut from 2mm plywood, this HO Scale kit assembles very quickly. All parts are self aligning and go together with simple wood glue. Once complete, a quick coat of paint and some weathering and it's ready to go! A perfect match for the Walther's Carfloat kit. The style and size of this float bridge kit is prototypically accurate for those used around the numerous car float operations in New York City and elsewhere.
