Control Rod Retainer Clip

BF-0009
Slide

Discontinued

The BF-0009 is no longer available.

The outside piece of the control rod needs to be held in place against the back of your control panel using a retainer clip.

If you can drill a #19 hole in your control panel, then the control rod can be press fitted into the panel and you do not need this mounting clip. However if you do not have a #19 drill bit, or your control panel is exceptionally thin, then you will need to use this mounting clip to hold the control rod in place.

This clip includes the clamping screw but not the mounting screw.

Nothing wrong with the clip but the little #2 screw is very easily lost and the slotted head makes that happen more than it should, especially on a garage floor. I found some #2’s that were 1/16 longer with Phillips heads and they made all the difference. I’d suggest switching to those the next time you put in an order for the next 10,000 screws. In the meantime, how about including an extra screw with each clip?

BullFrog Manual Turnout Control - Stress Testing

Before releasing our new BullFrog manual turnout control, we built this test jig to stress test the design. After 100,000 cycles, the BullFrog showed no significant signs of wear. To simulate switching stress, we restrained the switch wire, which broke after 10,000 cycles, while the BullFrog was no worse for wear.
